Modo OS App Privacy Policy
What the Modo OS app for iPhone and iPad collects from the people who use it at work, and why.
Who this covers
Modo OS is the internal operating system of Modo Group. The Modo OS app for iPhone and iPad is used by the employees of ModoSmart Technologies LLC and Modo TD Group LLC in the United Arab Emirates, and of Modo Technologies Private Ltd, Modo Distribution Private Ltd and Makrverse Private Limited in India.
This policy explains what the app and the Modo OS service it connects to collect about you as a user, how it is used, and the choices you have. The Modo Group company that employs you is responsible for your information. Effective 25 September 2026.
What the app collects
Your work account — your name, work email address, job title, department, company and role. Modo Group creates the account; you cannot create one in the app.
Sign-in — employees sign in with a passkey. The private part of a passkey stays on your device or in your Apple account; Modo OS stores only the public part. Face ID and Touch ID are checked by iOS itself; the app never receives your face or fingerprint data.
Location — only when you check in for attendance: one reading at that moment, to confirm you are at a company site. The app does not track your location in the background.
Camera and photos — only when you take or choose a picture, for example to scan a serial number, add a site photo to a project or a lead, or send an image in Messenger.
Microphone — only during a call you make or answer through the company phone system in the app.
What you create — messages, notes, tasks, updates, files, and the business records you work on, such as leads, quotes, projects and orders. These records can contain the names and contact details of our customers and suppliers.
Calls — calls made through the company phone system are recorded by that system. Recordings, together with the call history (numbers, times and durations), are stored in Modo OS, and are transcribed and summarised on Modo Group's own servers.
Your device — the push-notification tokens Apple issues to the app, your device's name, the app version, and technical logs that keep the service working and secure.
What stays on your device
The app keeps copies of the records you work with on your device so it opens quickly and works with a poor connection, plus small summaries for its widgets and search. Your sign-in is kept in the iOS Keychain. All of these are erased when you sign out.
How we use it
To run Modo OS for your work: showing you and your colleagues the records you need, delivering messages, calls and notifications, recording attendance, and keeping the service secure. We also use it to meet our legal, tax and employment obligations.
Modo OS's AI features — summaries, advice and drafts — run on Modo Group's own servers. No content is currently sent to an outside AI provider. If that changes for any feature, this policy will say so before it happens.
We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and the app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who we share it with
Only with the providers who run parts of the service for us, and only what they need: Apple (push notifications and passkeys), Google Workspace (email, calendar and meeting recordings), Cloudflare (secure network delivery and call relay), WhatsApp Business (customer messages sent from company numbers), and our error-monitoring provider where error reporting is switched on.
The company phone system runs on Modo Group's own equipment. We disclose information to a government authority, regulator or court where the law requires us to.
Where it is stored
Modo OS runs on Modo Group's own servers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Bangalore, India. Each keeps a copy of the other's data so the service keeps running if one of them is unavailable, which means your information is held in both countries. The providers named above may process it in other countries under their own safeguards.
Company-managed devices
If your iPhone or iPad is enrolled in Modo Group's device management, which is how the app is installed and kept up to date, the company can see the device's model, serial number and system version, whether it has a passcode and encryption, and which company apps are installed. Company devices managed through our earlier device-management provider also report their location.
The company can lock or erase a lost or stolen company device. Device management does not give the company access to your personal email, messages, photos or browsing.
How long we keep it
While you work for Modo Group, and afterwards for as long as employment, tax and commercial law requires. When you leave, your access is removed at once. Business records you created remain part of the company's records.
Your choices and rights
You can decline the location, camera, microphone or notification permissions in iOS Settings. The feature that needs the permission will not work, and nothing else is affected.
You may ask what information Modo Group holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where we are not required to keep it, under the data protection laws that apply to you in the UAE or India. Write to us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Demo accounts
A demo account signs in to a separate demonstration server that holds only fictional companies, people and prices. Nothing done there reaches Modo Group's real records.
Children
The app is for Modo Group staff at work and is not intended for anyone under 18.
