AUGUST 17, 2026 · PRESS RELEASE

DUBAI, UAE — Modo Technologies, a leading smart home and building automation company operating across India and the Middle East, was featured in Khaleej Times' "KT Impact – India" supplement, published in August 2026 to mark India's 80th Independence Day. In an article titled "The Future of Living is Smart," Co-Founder and CEO Hasaan Kadli spoke to the scale and speed of change reshaping the smart home category across both markets Modo serves.

Tracing the Shift From Luxury to Everyday

Kadli walked Khaleej Times through the arc of home automation in India — from the wired, integrator-only systems of the 2005–2015 era, through the arrival of smartphone- and cloud-based control, to today's retrofit-friendly, Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

"Wireless technologies simplify installation and are ideal for renovation and retrofit projects, where minimizing disruption is often a priority," explained Kadli. "The real transformation came with the Internet of Things (IoT)... Indian innovators entered the market alongside global brands, making smart automation far more accessible as prices fell dramatically — from systems costing several lakhs to solutions available for just a few thousand rupees."

A Model Built for Every Budget

Kadli detailed how Modo's approach — spanning brand distribution, bespoke automation, and turnkey smart space development — lets the company match the right architecture to each customer, rather than a single house solution. "For a budget-conscious renter or first-time homeowner, we have plug-and-play retrofit options... For mid-segment apartments, hybrid solutions... For luxury villas, Loxone gives you a fully wired backbone. Ultimately, it's about designing the right solution for each project rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach."

He also pointed to the accessibility of entry-level automation today: "A homeowner can get a meaningful starter setup — a smart lock, a few smart switches, motion sensors, and voice control — for well under one lakh rupees."

A Market on a Steep Growth Curve

The feature cites India's smart home market at approximately $6.7 billion in 2026, projected to grow at nearly 29 per cent annually to reach $24 billion by 2031 (Mordor Intelligence) — a trajectory that underscores the scale of opportunity ahead for Modo across both the UAE and India.
